WHAT IS Pokémon TCG?
The world of Pokémon is rich, wonderful, and filled with exciting adventures for fans of all ages. Battling is even more fun when you meet up with local Trainers. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just getting started, you’ll be able to share your love for Pokémon and develop new friendships with like-minded Trainers—you even may learn something new along the way. The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is a collectible card game where players build decks of Pokémon cards and battle each other, aiming to “knock out” their opponent’s Pokémon. It’s a strategic game with different types of cards including Pokémon, Trainer, and Energy cards, all based on the popular Pokémon franchise. Check out the Learn to Play on the official site!
This is an entry-level casual play event where players come out to hang out, play and trade cards for cards. All you need is a legal and sleeved deck. We have a strict no proxy-policy, so only real cards allowed in-store (do not put proxies even in your binders or deck boxes!).
Parents/guardians of Pokémon players are very lucky, as there’s a whole official Pokémon website dedicated to you and your child’s wellbeing. Parents/guardians of children should be present with their child through out their whole visit. Children are not to be left unattended by their parents/guardians. OMG is not responsible for any children left unattended or for any possible lost items. We also have a limited amount of seats, so parents should remember to mention that they’re coming in as a pair when they preregister for their child. We highly recommend joining the actual playing in the event so that you learn the game that your child loves! Coffee/ tea on the house for any parents/guardians!
If you’re ready to evolve from the casual League Play, dip your toes in our entry-level monthly League Challenges and quarterly competitive Cups.
All tournament and casual players are expected to have a Play Pokémon ID (if you’ve visited us before it probably isn’t needed). A judge or Community Manager will ask this ID from you before the tournament. To speed things up, please add your ID to your profile. If you are new to us or the game and are joining our tournament for the first time, get your ID via the links above BEFORE coming in to the store (this is to save time).
