WHAT IS Pokémon VCG Challenge & Cup?

This event signup is for both the VGC League Cup & VGC League Challenge. Cup starts around 12:00 & the Challenge at around 14:00.

“Pokémon Video Game Challenge tournaments are entry-level events that award a small amount of Championship Points. Test your skills here first to ease yourself into competitive play. Pokémon Video Game Cups are similar to Pokémon Video Game Challenges in scale but award more Championship Points in addition to offering higher-level practice for larger competitions.”

  • Players need to bring their own most recent Pokémon video game and their own Nintendo Switch system. A filled out team sheet is also mandatory.
  • The Challenge will be best-of-one (BO1) rounds.
  • The Cup will be BO3 Swiss rounds into a top-cut. We may have to change the Cup to BO1 to prevent the Cup running over the stores closing time (Saturdays 18:00).

PLAY POKÉMON ID

All tournament and casual players are expected to have a Play Pokémon ID (if you’ve visited us before it probably isn’t needed). A judge or Community Manager will ask this ID from you before the tournament. To speed things up, please add your ID to your profile. If you are new to us or the game and are joining our tournament for the first time, get your ID via the links above BEFORE coming in to the store (this is to save time).

PARENTS / GUARDIANS

Parents/guardians of Pokémon players are very lucky, as there’s a whole official Pokémon website dedicated to you and your child’s wellbeing. OMG also takes child welfare seriously. Parents/guardians of children should be present with their child through out their whole visit. Children are not to be left unattended by their parents/guardians. OMG is not responsible for any children left unattended or for any possible lost or broken items. We also have a limited amount of seats, so parents should remember to mention that they’re coming in as a pair when they preregister for their child. We highly recommend parents/guardians playing in the event so that they learn the game that their child loves! Coffee/tea on the house for any parents/guardians!
